The Friday Blessing
Prende, morning star and lady of the rainbow, you who are honoured on the day that bears your name, look kindly on this small altar. Bless those about to be wed and those who love without ceremony. Give me the courage of the dawn, which arrives without apology, and the patience of the swallow that returns to the same eave.
Spoken at first light on a Friday, with a rose or a bowl of water set facing east.
